How to Combine Receipts and Photos Into One PDF

October 16, 2026 · 2 min read

Short answer: add your receipt photos to JPG to PDF, drag them into the order you want, choose a page size, and download one PDF where each image is a page. If some receipts are already PDFs, merge everything with Merge PDF afterward, and compress the result if it's too large to upload.

Before you start: take usable photos

  • Lay receipts flat on a dark, plain surface so the edges stand out.
  • Use even light and avoid flash glare on thermal paper.
  • Fill the frame with the receipt; crop in your phone's photo app if needed.
  • Check the totals and dates are readable before you throw the paper away.

Step by step

  1. Open JPG to PDF and add your images (JPG or PNG, up to 30 images and 150 MB in total).
  2. Drag the thumbnails into order, for example by date, to match your expense list.
  3. Choose a page size: A4 or Letter gives uniform pages that print well; fit-to-image keeps each page the exact size of its photo.
  4. Create the PDF and download it.

Some receipts are already PDFs?

Emailed invoices often arrive as PDFs. Convert your photos to a PDF first, then open Merge PDF, add that file together with the other PDFs, arrange them, and merge everything into one document.

Keep the file small enough to upload

Phone photos are large, and a PDF made from them is roughly the size of the photos added together. If an expense system or email rejects the file, run it through Compress PDF. Because these pages are already images, the image-based compression usually reduces them substantially; check that the amounts are still readable before submitting.

WebP or HEIC photos? JPG to PDF accepts JPG and PNG. Convert other formats with Convert to JPG first (HEIC isn't supported in most browsers, so export as JPG from your phone's share menu).

Why do this in your browser

Receipts can reveal card digits, addresses, and what you bought. Because the PDF is created on your device, the images aren't sent to a server.
